Oral Health Therapist Erin Park

A new oral health therapist comes to Inverloch

We sat down with the newest dental extraordinaire to arrive in Inverloch, Oral Health Therapist Erin Park (BOH), to find out more about her and hear how she’s enjoying working in our beautiful seaside town.

Q: Why did you decide to pursue a career in dentistry?

A: I’ve always wanted to be in a position where I could help people – and I thought that my personality would be well suited to a career in healthcare.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your career to date?

A: I moved from Brisbane to study my dental degree at the University of Melbourne. I have been practising as an oral health therapist for nearly two years now. As a new graduate, I started out working in dental vans travelling to primary schools around Victoria.

I love interacting with children, so I found this to be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience! I loved my role, but wanted to expand my knowledge and skills as a clinician, so I decided to take up a role at Inverloch Family Dental, where I get to use my great rapport with kids working with our littlest patients, as well as being able to maintain and improve oral hygiene of older patients.

Q: What’s your favourite thing about working at Inverloch Family Dental?

A: Definitely the patients! They’re all so lovely and I enjoy listening to the stories they have to tell. We always end up having a good chat – and often a laugh together – during their appointments. I’ve also been very lucky to be working with such a friendly and supportive team.

Q: What’s your favourite dental tip for patients?

Flossing is just as important as brushing!

Q: What’s something most people don’t know about you?

Growing up I played the violin for a long time and have a Diploma in Music.

Q: What do you get up to in your spare time?

In my spare time, you’ll find me exploring cafes and restaurants around Melbourne and doing outdoor activities with friends or travelling.

Erin is an Oral Health Therapist who provides a number of dental procedures including examination, gum treatment and kids’ dentistry. She works alongside the clinic’s dentists to provide efficient, seamless treatments.
